Short version. Check My Setup is a free tool provided as-is. Use it for lawful purposes, don't try to break or abuse it, and understand that the information it shows is best-effort and not guaranteed to be perfectly accurate. There's no account and no payment, so there's not much that can go wrong — but the formalities below apply.

1. Who provides this service

Check My Setup ("the Service", "we", "us") is operated by Marcin Lewandowski, trading as Depthia — a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom, ICO registration ZC164548. By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What the Service is

The Service is a free, single-page web tool that reads and displays information about your network connection and browser — such as your public IP address, approximate location, ISP, and device details — and lets you look up information about public IP addresses. It is provided for informational and personal use.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, stalk, profile, or harm any individual.
Use IP lookup results to target, deanonymise, or take hostile action against any person or organisation.
Attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape at scale, reverse-engineer for malicious ends, or otherwise interfere with the Service or its infrastructure.
Circumvent rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions.
Reproduce or resell the Service as your own commercial product.

4. Accuracy and "as is" nature

The information the Service displays — particularly geolocation, ISP, and VPN/proxy detection — is derived from third-party data sources and public registries. It is provided on a best-effort basis and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Country-level location is usually accurate; city-level location often isn't. You should not rely on the Service for any decision where accuracy is critical (for example, legal, security, fraud, or compliance decisions) without independent verification.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

6. Third-party services and ads

The Service is free and supported by advertising provided by Google AdSense, and relies on third-party providers for hosting and IP geolocation. Your interaction with ads and any third-party site you reach through them is governed by those parties' own terms and privacy policies. How data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual property

The design, code, written content, and branding of the Service belong to us unless otherwise stated. You may use the Service and share links to it freely, but you may not copy substantial portions of the site or its articles and republish them as your own.

8. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may update, change, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We may also revise these Terms; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections you're entitled to under the mandatory law of your country of residence.
